We take our responsibility to protect children from harm, danger and abuse VERY seriously. This includes our commitment to staff training ,our work with the children, our referrals to Social care should they be required, our Governors work and our ongoing support to families, foster carers, specials guardians and extended family carers
We are regarded by Social Care as having excellent practice in keeping children safe and supporting children with complex, and in some cases tragic personal stories, as the join us with needs to be cared for. Some children are specifically sent to the school by the Social Care staff to enable them to thrive.
We keep careful files to support any child’s needs, have a log that records ongoing events for children and a training log that shows that staff are well prepared to support children as they need.
On a lighter note our Friendship weeks, Road Safety weeks, weekly PSHE work,Children ‘Say no’ work, the Anti Bullying policy and our Healthy Heart and Mind days all add to children’s confidence ,trust and awareness ensuring they know they are valued and respected by other.
Every child is encouraged to have a ‘Hand of Trust’ showing 5 people they know they always feel safe with and who they can always trust.
